How do I avoid pressure while wearing it?Updated 16 hours ago

For the first cycle or two, you may feel a slight sense of pressure or fullness while your body gets used to the femdisc. That's completely normal 💛

However, if the disc isn't sitting quite right, it can press on the urethra, the bladder, or the bowel. That might feel like, for example, needing to pee often, a weak urine stream, or the urge to have a bowel movement. In most cases, this can be fixed easily by adjusting the position of the disc.

Make sure the rim of the femdisc is behind the pubic bone. When inserting, it helps to first insert the disc horizontally toward your tailbone, following the natural path of your vaginal canal. Once it's about halfway in, angle it slightly downward toward the floor so it sits securely behind your cervix. Many people find it helpful to use their thumb to secure the rim behind the pubic bone – the angle often makes a big difference here ✨

On top of that, your estrogen levels are usually lower around your period. This can lead to vaginal dryness and increase feelings of pressure or cramping with period products. If the disc is hard to insert or you feel dry, a water-based lubricant can help ease pressure, fullness, or discomfort while your body gets used to the femdisc.

If the pressure still persists, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] – we're happy to help 💙
