How do I remove staining?Updated 16 hours ago
It's completely normal for your menstrual disc to stain over time. How much it stains varies from person to person and depends on things like how long you wear the disc, the iron content of your menstrual blood, and how you clean it 💛
Our best tips against stains on your femdisc:
1. Rinse with cold water
After emptying your femdisc, always rinse it with cold water first. This helps prevent stains. Warm or hot water can actually "set" staining.
2. Clean gently
Then clean the disc with the femdisc foam cleanser and warm water. For a thorough clean, feel free to use a soft toothbrush as well.
3. Let the sun work its magic
For light staining, a bit of indirect sunlight can also help. Set the disc in a bright spot for a few hours – this fades stains and helps with odors at the same time ☀️
4. Use a blood stain remover
If you'd like your disc to look brand new again, we developed our femdisc blood stain remover for exactly that:

Here's how to use it:
Drop a blood stain remover tab into a heat-resistant container with boiling water. Once the tab has fully dissolved, place your femdisc inside.
Let it soak for 6–8 hours. Then take the disc out and rinse it thoroughly with water 💧
Once dry, your femdisc is clean again and ready for its next use ✨
Please avoid soaking too often or for too long, though, as this can wear down the material over time – especially if the recommended soaking time is exceeded.
