How do I get the femdisc back out?Updated 16 hours ago
Taking it out is much easier than it seems 💛
After up to 12 hours, you can remove the femdisc in a completely relaxed way on the toilet or in the shower.
Sit down and gently bear down, as if you were having a bowel movement 💩 This helps release the disc from behind the pubic bone. Often, part of the contents will already empty into the toilet at this point.
Then hook a clean finger under the rim or into the tab and pull the femdisc out horizontally.
It may take a few cycles before you get the hang of how to remove the femdisc. That's completely normal.

Detailed tips for removal
Relax
Try to stay as calm and relaxed as possible. Tensing up can make it harder to grip the disc. Breathing deeply in and out helps relax the pelvic floor 🌬️
The right sitting position
Sit on the toilet and prop your feet up slightly (for example, on a stool).
Keep your knees closer together and place your feet about shoulder-width apart.
Lean forward
Bend your upper body forward. Breathe in slowly and out even more slowly. When your core relaxes, your pelvic floor relaxes too – which makes the disc easier to remove.
Change position
If your cervix sits higher or you're having trouble reaching the disc, it often helps to squat down. You can try this in the shower, for example 🚿
Use your pelvic floor
Gently bear down, as if you were having a bowel movement 💩 This moves the disc down a little so it's easier to reach.
Get a better grip
If the disc is too slippery, a piece of toilet paper can help you get more grip.
How to take the disc out
