How do I insert the femdisc?Updated 15 hours ago

Inserting sometimes takes a little practice – no worries, that’s completely normal 💛
These tips usually help it get easier fast:

1. Relax & find a comfortable position
The easiest way is sitting on the toilet or squatting in the shower 🚿

2. Fold the disc
Pinch the disc in the middle so it takes on a figure-8 shape.

3. Insert & “scoop”
Insert the folded disc.
Once it’s about halfway in, angle it slightly downward toward your tailbone as you keep pushing it in, so you go around the cervix – this is also called “scooping”.

4. If folding feels tricky
Hold the disc folded with one hand and use the other to gently insert it.

5. Tuck it behind the pubic bone
Once the disc is in, use your index finger or thumb to gently push the front rim of the femdisc upward and hook it behind the pubic bone

It may take a few tries to find your personal technique – feel free to experiment with different variations.

And no worries: it’s completely normal if the disc doesn’t fully open up or feels a bit crumpled. That just means it has adapted to the natural shape of your vaginal fornix. As long as it sits comfortably and isn’t leaking, everything’s fine ✨

Here are two more insertion methods you can try if that doesn’t work for you.

The reverse method:

Fold the femdisc into a figure-8, flip it over so it’s upside down, insert it so it heads toward the pubic bone, then push the back rim in so the femdisc gets cupped over the cervix. Afterward, you can use one finger to push the femdisc up properly behind the pubic bone again.
Here’s a video about it too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=da-kkKLForg

The fingertip method:

Place your index finger inside the disc so that the rim that’s meant to go behind the cervix touches your fingertip. With your other hand, press the disc against your finger. It’s now about the width of a regular tampon, and then you push it in. At your fingertip you’ll feel the cervix. And with your other hand (your fingers still shaped into a ring) you push it behind the cervix. Then you take your finger out and push the rim behind the pubic bone. You can try it standing with one leg up on the edge of the tub, or squatting with your back against the wall.
